The Finnish Centre for Pensions produces versatile statistics that describe the Finnish pension system. The statistics include information on pension recipients, persons insured under the earnings-related pension acts, pension expenditure, effective retirement ages, rehabilitation under the earnings-related pension scheme and the financing of earnings-related pensions.

Average total pension in Finland 1,716 euros

In 2019, pension recipients received an average total monthly pension of 1,716 euros and a median monthly pension of 1,497 euros. Men got an average monthly pension of 1,937 euros and women 1,533 euros (20% less).

Mental disorders the most common reason for retirement on a disability pension

In 2019, around 20,300 persons retired on an earnings-related disability pension. Of the new retirees, 10,900 were women (54%) and 9,400 men (46%).

The most common reason for retirement on a disability pension was mental and behavioural disorders.
